Our Mission
St. Francis Hands Foundation is dedicated to following the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi and serving the impoverished communities in El Palmar de Herrera and its surroundings in the Dominican Republic. Our mission is to bring hope, dignity, and essential provisions to those in need, guided by the values of compassion, mercy, and justice. Join us in making a lasting impact and spreading the message of hope.

How We Help
Assessment
Understanding Needs
Our local volunteers identify families in urgent need, giving priority to pregnant women, small children, individuals with disabilities or incontinence, the unemployed, and impoverished households. We also listen to the community to understand seasonal needs such as school supplies, Christmas gifts, and special occasions.
Action
Implementing Solutions
Every month, we collect donations from parishioners and friends in the U.S., including clothing, shoes, hygiene items, and small household goods. We also ship essential food staples like 25-pound bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, pillows, bedsheets, curtains, kitchenware, and hygiene items. These boxes are carefully packed and shipped to our trusted partners in the Dominican Republic.
Impact
Restoring dignity and joy
Families receive not just items, but dignity, hope, and joy. From helping children begin school with proper supplies, to making homes more comfortable, to ensuring that families share food together, every donation brings relief and strengthens community life.
